Two of the six students selected to represent Sri Lankan delegate in the International Junior Science Olympiad Competition 2011 in Durban were from Jaffna Hindu College. While the cost of country registration, food and accommodation were provided by National Science Foundation and the organising committee respectively, the participants had to bear the cost of airfare from Colombo to Durban.

The JHC OBA Victoria contributed SLR 85,000 towards half the airfare for one of the two selected students. One of the students Suthareswaran Vithyasahar has won the bronze medal in this International Junior Science Olympiad Competition.
