The JHC OBA Victoria is a voluntary association of the past pupils of Jaffna Hindu College presently living in Victoria, Australia. The OBA was formed in late 80s by Jaffna Hindu Old boys, for the purpose of creating the bonding between the past students of JHC. Since then the dedicated members of the JHC OBA Victoria have worked tirelessly to make a more active and stable OBA.

By 1990, the OBA had drafted a more comprehensive Constitution, which was very necessary for formalising the functions of the Association and the Association was incorporated in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1990. The goal of the Association is to unite, inform and involve alumni, family and friends for the purpose of promoting, protecting and preserving the legacy of JHC.

The JHC OBA has been actively involved in the development of the school, from its inception. It has promoted a sense of attachment amongst all the Old students. The association has given support in strengthening and improving the school in various spheres.

The broad-based objectives of the Association are:

  • To preserve and promote the high traditions of the Jaffna Hindu College.
  • To foster and maintain among the Old boys a sense of loyalty to the college and fellowship with one another.
  • To render all possible assistance to Jaffna Hindu College and students at all times.
  • To participate and assist in projects designed for the benefit of the Jaffna Hindu College.
  • To foster and to promote relationship between Jaffna Hindu College and its past pupils living in Australia.

The administration of the Association is by an executive committee members elected annually by the members. We would be pleased to hear from any JHC Old boys from Victoria who would like to join the Association or help us in any means, however small it may be. So please do contact any of the committee members.
